Chairman of the Bulgarian Nuclear Regulatory Agency Latchesar Kostov said that it is expected that the agency will complete the evaluation of the documentation and issue a 10-years operational license for unit 5 of the country’s sole nuclear power plant Kozloduy by September 2017.
Kostov said that current license for the exploitation of unit 5 of NPP Kozloduy expires in November 2017, thus the agency received an application for an extension of the license. He said that the evaluation of the documentation will continue in 2017, adding that no discrepancies with a significant effect on safety have been found so far.
