According to the data published by Bulgarian electricity transmission system operator ESO, production of electricity in Bulgaria in the period between 1 January and 19 August has decreased by 1.35 % compared to the same period in 2017 and reached 28.36 TWh.
Bulgaria’s electricity consumption dropped as well in the abovementioned period, by 5.12 % reaching a total of 24.07 TWh. However, electricity exports increased by 26.89 % in the same period to 4,295 GWh, due to the fact that export was banned for large portion of January and February last year.
