Major overhaul of thermal power plant Morava was successfully completed on 30 August after the 120 MW unit was synchronized to the electricity grid. With the investment of state-owned power utility EPS in the amount of 27 million euros, the operational life of the plant was extended, power output, reliability and efficiency of the unit were increased and its operation is now in line with the EU environmental standards.
Major overhaul of TPP Morava was carried out in two stages during 2015 and 2016. During the first phase, which lasted five months, 10 million euros was invested, with additional 17 million euros invested during the second phase in 2016. During the six months overhaul in 2016, the boiler’s combustion chamber was replaced and the reconstruction of electro filters was performed as well. 5 million euros for the reconstruction of electro filters were donated by the EU.
