Macedonian electricity transmission system operator MEPSO signed the contract according to which it became the founding partner in the Southeastern Europe Coordinated Auction Office (SEE CAO), a regional company that organizes auctions for cross-border transmission capacities.
The statement from MEPSO said that the accession of the company to SEE CAO is a step forward that will facilitate the cross-border electricity trade at regional level. SEE CAO has been designed to coordinate cross-border capacity auctions in the region and thus reduce the costs of the participants in the regional electricity market. By joining the SEE CAO, the company has also fulfilled one of the commitments undertaken with the ratification of the Treaty on the establishment of the European Energy Community.
