Bulgarian Minister of Energy Temenuzhka Petkova resigned after the sale of CEZ’ Bulgarian assets to local company Inercom due to long-lasting acquaintance with its owner Ginka Varbakova.
Minister Petkova explained that she had known Inercom’s owner for 20 years and stressed that the Bulgarian Government was in no way involved in the sale and that everything has been done in accordance with Czech legislation. However, Bulgarian Commission for Protection of Competition (CPC), the Financial Supervision Commission and the State Agency for National Security have to approve the arrangement before it is finalized.
