Hungarian Government has adopted a decision that the acquisition of a stake in state-owned utilities company ENKSZ by also state-owned Hungarian Electricity Works (MVM) is a matter of strategic importance and thereby exempted the transaction from the oversight by the Hungarian Competition Office (GVH).
The Government’s decision justified the move by stating that the plan was to create a national utility system that intends to provide electricity public services organized on a market basis and operating on a sustainable manner in the long-term.
