President of the Romanian Petroleum Exploration and Production Companies Association (ROPEPCA), Artur Stratan said at the press conference that Romania’s proven natural gas reserves will diminish in 9 years, while crude oil reserves will be diminished in 12 years if new hydrocarbons investments are not made.
Stratan explained that the exhaustion level of the gas reserves is 90 %, stressing that hydrocarbons production in Romania will last only a limited period of time, namely 9 years for natural gas and 12 years for crude oil, adding that onshore proven provisions are only for this period without any further investments.
