Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs Peter Szijjarto announced that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed that the upgrade of the country’s sole nuclear power plant Paks will start in January 2018.
According to Minister Szijjarto, the two sides made no new decisions but reviewed the implementation of their previous agreements and the upgrade will start in January next year, after a 22-month delay while the European Commission examined if the project complied with EU rules.
