CEO of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) Shunichi Miyanaga said that the construction date for Turkey’s second nuclear power plant project Sinop, which will be built by Japanese-French consortium, will be announced in the next few months.
Miyanaga explained that NPP Sinop project is very important not just for Turkey but for MHI as well, because it will introduce the most advanced, latest and safest technology – ATMEA1. The ATMEA1 nuclear reactor has been developed by a joint company consisting of Japanese MHI and French Areva. The reactor is based on third generation pressurized water reactors developed using French and Japanese nuclear technology. It has been designed to resist exceptional incidents and prevent damage to the environment.
