The Government’s negotiating team managed to improve the technical parameters of the project for the construction of second unit at thermal power plant Pljevlja by more than 10 million euros in comparison to the initial version. Besides, the reduction of the initial price of 338.5 million euros submitted by Skoda Praha is also expected, said Montenegrin Minister of Energy Vladimir Kavaric.
Minister Kavaric stressed that the project for the construction of second unit at TPP Pljevlja is of strategic importance for Montenegro and its electricity system. There are many benefits from this project, starting from its economic viability, resolving the issues regarding the district heating in Pljevlja and the improved stability of the entire Montenegrin power system. He added that all the obligations from the Energy Community Treaty, which was signed by Montenegro, will be met with the construction of the second unit.
