Romanian subsidiary of Austrian OMV Group, OMV Petrom announced that the company recorded a 2.2 % decrease in hydrocarbons production in the second quarter of 2016, compared to the same period last year.
According to OMV Petrom, the production reached 177,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day. Although the production is lower than in the same period in 2015, it has increased by 1.1 % compared to the first quarter of this year. The decline in hydrocarbons production in 2016 was due to lower upstream investments. Last year, OMV Petrom invested some 880 million euros in Romania, which is 38 % less than in 2014.
