Romanian oil and gas company OMV Petrom, a part of Austrian OMV Group, recorded a net profit in the amount of 398.5 million euros in the first nine months of the year, which is 111 % higher compared to the same period last year.
The company’s sales rose by 20 % to 3.08 billion euros in the January-September 2017 period, supported by higher oil and natural gas prices, increased petroleum product sales volumes, but partially offset by lower sales volumes of natural gas and electricity. The downstream segment contributed with 78 % of total sales, downstream gas was accounted for 19 % and upstream for 3 %.
