Croatian gas transmission system operator Plinacro and the Executive Agency for Innovation and Networks (INEA), on behalf of the European Commission, have signed an agreement on 4.825 million euros grant from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), the fund intended for infrastructure projects, transport, telecommunications and energy.
The money will be used to complete all remaining preparatory activities in the project for the construction of gas interconnection with Slovenia, namely gas pipeline Lucko-Zabok-Rogatec and two compressor stations. It is currently the most important gas infrastructure project in Croatia, which is also of great importance for the supply of the entire region. Upon its completion, it will create the conditions for reliable and competitive gas supply in Croatian and neighboring markets.
