Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov said after the meeting with High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini that Bulgaria wants the European Commission (EC) to clearly declare that Balkan gas hub project is necessary for Europe.
PM Borisov said that after the EC declares Balkan gas hub as necessary project for Europe, Bulgarian authorities could start negotiations with the suppliers who can transport gas, including suppliers from Russia, adding that he already talked with Russian President Vladimir Putin on this matter. Borisov also said that there are only expert meetings left as the text of the letter is being clarified and it could be signed even today.
