The workers union GENOP at Greek Public Power Corporation (PPC) announced that it will launch rolling 48-hour strikes that will start as of 00:01 Monday, 23 April.
The decision came after the Government submitted a bill on the sale of PPC’s coal-fired units to the Parliament for approval. The union’s demands are: halt of the sale of coal-fired power plants, return of 17 % stake in PPC from privatization fund TAIPED to the state, signing of a collective labor agreement and hiring additional staff.
