GENOP-DEH workers’ union is opposing the plan of the Greek creditors which envisages the sale of stake in Public Power Corporation (PPC) and claim that PPC’s employees should have a greater say in the deal, as they should have a stake in the company from social security contributions accumulated from 1966 to 1999.
Head of the union, George Adamidis said that the union will file an appeal with the European Court of Human Rights, seeking that workers’ holdings in the company are recognized. An earlier attempt to have their claim recognized was rejected by the country’s top administrative court.
