On 12 September, coalmine and thermal power plant (RiTE) Ugljevik will sign a contract with several companies from the Czech Republic on the reconstruction of electrostatic filters worth 9.7 million euros.
The representatives of RiTE Ugljevik pointed out the enormous importance of signing this agreement due to the fact that electrostatic filters have not been replaced since the commissioning of the power plant, thus they no longer satisfy the projected values of particulate emissions from the plant’s chimney. The statement further said that the reconstruction of electrostatic filters, along with the construction of desulphurization system, will reduce particulate emissions to the standards prescribed by the European environmental directives.
