Romanian electricity producer Nuclearelectrica, which operates the country’s sole nuclear power plant Cernavoda, announced that its unit 1 will enter regular shutdown on 6 May.
The reactors at NPP Cernavoda are shutdown alternatively, once in every two years, in order to undergo preventive maintenance, mandatory inspections and test, as well as implementation of project modifications to certain systems, which could be only done while the reactor is shut down.
