After the Court’s final judgment in favor of the Republic of Srpska (RS) regarding the approval of the environmental impact study for the construction of hydropower plant Dabar, there are no more obstacles for the realization of this project, said the Prime Minister of RS Zeljka Cvijanovic.
At the meeting with the representatives of China International Water & Electric Corporation (CWE), the Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining Petar Djokic explained that currently activities on the construction of 11 kilometers long tunnel are underway, as well as negotiations with the Chinese partner on the construction of facilities and procurement of equipment for the future HPP. He added that CWE is prepared to mediate with the Chinese Exim Bank in order to secure the funds for the project. A letter of intent will also be sent to CWE, in which RS will clearly express its intentions to speed up activities on the realization of this project.
