According to Romanian electricity transmission system operator Transelectrica, renewable energy sources (RES) provided 56 % of the national electricity production for two consecutive days.
On Wednesday morning (24 August), wind power was accounted for 27.1 % of the total production (2,223 MW), followed by hydropower with 26.31 % (2,158 MW), while solar power was accounted for 2.71 % of the production (222 MW).
