Romanian electricity transmission operator Transelectrica said that it has completed the crossing of the border to Serbia with the 400 kV Resita (Romania) – Pancevo (Serbia) transmission line, which is one of the final stages in the realization of the Romania-Serbia interconnection project.
The 400 kV Resita-Pancevo transmission line is a project of common interest at European level and it realizes the interconnection with Serbia with the role of strengthening the Romanian national electricity network as well as the network of the entire region. The 400 kV Resita-Pancevo overhead transmission line will allow the elimination of major congestions in the area of the Romanian and Serbian power systems as well as the increase of the transfer capacity between Romania and Serbia and across southeastern Europe.
