Revitalization and modernization of hydropower plant Trebinje, which is realized within the Power III project, the operational life of the plant and the entire facility will be extended for about 30 years, which will further stabilize the entire electricity system of the Republic of Srpska (RS).
HPP Trebinje 1 is operated by “Hidroelektrane na Trebisnjici” (HET), a subsidiary of Bosnian power utility ERS. Power III project consists od three phases, the first two have already been successfully completed, while the third phase is expected to start soon and will include overhaul of the equipment, turbines and generators. In addition to operational life extension, the completion of this phase will lead to significant increases in the capacity of the plant, at least by 10 %.
