Romanian Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos said in an interview that in few years’ time, Romania could become a natural gas exporter to Moldova.
PM Ciolos stressed that it is very probable that Romania will start exporting natural gas to Moldova, and will be able to supply it to the extent there is demand from Moldova, while also helping the country get connected to the European network, because Romanian natural gas transmission system operator Transgaz is well positioned in the Romanian and European markets. He added that Transgaz will also take part in the construction of so-called BRHA gas pipeline, that will start on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast and go through Romania and Hungary before reaching its destination in Austria, thus linking the region to the rest of Europe.
