The European Commissioner for Regional Policies Corina Cretu said that Romania will get 439 million euros grant from the European Fund for Regional Development for the upgrade of energy efficiency of its public buildings for the 2014-2020 period. She added that the country alone will decide how this money will be spent.
However, Cretu explained that these funds will be evenly distributed throughout the country. Therefore, to the capital Bucharest some 41 million euros will be allocated, while the remainder of 439 million euros sum will be allocated to other regions.
