According to the data published by the Romanian National Institute of Statistics (INS), in the first six months of 2016 Romania imported 222,400 tons of oil equivalent of natural gas, which is 231.4 % or 155,300 tons of oil equivalent higher than in the same period in 2015.
In the first half of this year, domestic natural gas production amounted to over 3.81 million tons of oil equivalent, which is 11.5 % or almost 500,000 tons of oil equivalent lower than in the same period last year.
