Russian Rosatom has agreed to sell a 49 % stake in nuclear power plant Akkuyu to a Turkish consortium in a preliminary agreement signed on 19 June on the sidelines of a nuclear conference in Moscow.
The stake in NPP Akkuyu project has been sold for an undisclosed sum to the consortium of three Turkish companies – Cengiz, Kolin and Kaylon, which are active in Turkish construction and energy sectors. Each of these companies will have an equal stake in the project. The shareholders’ agreement will be signed by the end of the year, when the sum of the deal is expected to be revealed as well.
