Russian state-owned company Rosatom has put 49 % of its stake in the future Turkish nuclear power plant Akkuyu on sale, after the political dispute between Turkey and Russia over a shot down warplane in November last year, which also affected the economic relations.
Some sources indicate that Rosatom is negotiating the sale of 49 % stake in NPP Akkuyu with the local company Cengiz Construction. This company has already won the tender for the construction of port for the first Turkish nuclear power plant which is currently under construction in Mediterranean province of Mersin. However, Rosatom declined to comment this information.
