According to Italian media, a consortium led by Italian gas company Snam will offer around 400 million euros for the purchase of 66 % stake in Greek natural gas transmission system operator DESFA.
The deadline for submitting binding offers is 16 February. Therefore, based on the most favorable scenario, DESFA privatization could be completed within the third quarter of 2018. Two of the initial six bidders for the stake in DESFA have qualified for the second and final round of a tender. Those are a consortium comprising of Italian Snam, Belgian Fluxys, Spanish Enagas and Dutch Gasunie and a sole entry of Spanish Regasificadora del Noroeste.
