Local company Solar Energy from Capljina has put into operation 1 MW solar power plant in Gabela in Capljina municipality.
It is one of the largest facilities of its kind in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and it is expected that this 1 MW solar power plant will produce about 1.5 million kWh of electricity per year. The plant consists of 3,800 panels and stretches over the area of 16,800 square meters. Its construction was completed in three months and it is expected that it will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by some 1.3 tons per year.
