South Stream Bulgaria, a project company for now cancelled South Stream gas pipeline project, is spending around 2.25 million of budget funds although Russia has abandoned the project in December 2014.
Member of Bulgarian Parliament Nastimir Ananiev argued that such expenditures are staggering for a company which used budget funding but had no activity whatsoever. He added that employees in South Stream Bulgaria earn a considerably higher salary that the nationwide average, while the company’s total monthly expenditures amount to around 0.2 million euros.
