The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) said that its Star oil refinery, which is the first oil refinery built in Turkey in the last 30 years, will be commissioned in the third quarter of 2018.
The investment worth 6 billion dollars will will supply feedstock to Turkish petrochemicals firm Petkim in order to help cut Turkey’s dependence on imported refined oil products. It will boost Turkish refining capacity by 30 %.
