Chairman of the Romanian Competition Council Bogdan Chiritoiu said that the European Commission (EC) analyzed the state aid awarded by Romanian authorities to the country’s natural gas transmission system operator Transgaz for the construction of Iasi-Ungheni gas pipeline and found that it is in accordance with the EU legislation.
In 2015, Transgaz received state aid in the amount of about 18 million euros in order to finance the construction of Iasi-Ungheni gas pipeline, through the program for the cooperation between Romania and Moldova.
