Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said after the meeting with his Azeri counterpart Ilham Aliyev that Trans-Anatolian (TANA) gas pipeline will be put into operation in early June.
President Erdogan stressed that TANAP, as an important part of Southern Gas Corridor, will contribute to all of Europe’s energy security, not only gas exchange between Turkey and Azerbaijan. He also said that the STAR refinery in the Aliaga Peninsula, which is the largest investment of State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) in Turkey, will open in September or October. The refinery will have a capacity to process 10 million tons of crude oil per year.
