The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) informed the media that the consortium led by British Petroleum, which is developing Shah Deniz 2 gas field, has the obligation to deliver 2 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year to Turkey starting from July 2018.
In the next year, deliveries will increase to 4 billion cubic meters of gas, gradually increasing within three years to reach the final amount of 6 billion cubic meters of gas per year. Gas will be delivered via Trans-Anatolian gas pipeline (TANAP) under the agreement signed in 2011 between the consortium and Turkish gas company BOTAS.
