A telecommunications company Telekom Slovenije has included electricity supply into its portfolio.
In August, Telekom Slovenije submitted a request to state regulatory authorities for a permission to expand its business activities, because the company is planning to include electricity supply in its offer, as well as to enter the insurance business. After receiving the electricity supply permit, the company will continue to pursue the insurance business permit and envisages that it will enter that segment of business by 2020. Telekom Slovenije stated earlier that it is not planning to produce electricity, but to offer services of electricity supply in cooperation with some of its partners, despite the estimates that the market is already oversaturated due to its liberalization. The reason for the expansion of business is the fact that the company has a large subscriber base and it can offer new services on “all in one place” principle.
