According to the Draft Regulation on Renewable Energy Resource Areas (YEKA), the first bidding to be launched for renewable energy will be held in Konya province’s Karapinar district for a 1,000 MW connection in the first phase of a 1,500 MW solar power connection in Turkey’s 1.5 billion dollars investment in solar power, the largest to date.
After permission for the 1,500 MW connection is granted, the first bid is scheduled for 1,000 MW capacity, which is the first phase of the project and includes production facilities, transmission lines and other infrastructure, while the additional 500 MW connection will be bid on at the later date. The details and regulations on the bid will be announced later this month, while the actual bidding process is scheduled for November. The bidding will be held at the reserve auction in a form of a competition with the tender being awarded to the highest bidder.
