Bulgarian thermal power plant will enter electricity market as a trader. At this stage, it plans to operate only on the wholesale market and has no interest in supplying electricity to end consumers.
According to its business plan, TPP Varna expects to trade electricity in the volume of some 40,000 MWh in 2018, with the aim of reaching the volume of traded electricity of 160,000 MWh in 2022. The Commission for Energy and Water Regulation (KEVR) said that there are no obstacles for TPP Varna to obtain 10-year electricity trading license.
