The officials of Turkish electricity exchange in Istanbul (EPIAS) announced that it is expected that the power trade volumes at the exchange will increase by 10 % in 2016, thus reaching 110 TWh.
Turkish power exchange has been established in 2015 and currently has 882 participants. It operates day-ahead, intra-day and balancing markets for electricity. It is expected that this number will increase later this year, with the launch of natural gas spot market.
