The Romanian Competition Council announced that it has opened an investigation in the possible rigging of tenders organized by the state-owned electricity transmission system Transelectrica.
The tenders in question are related to the procurement of services for maintenance and modernization of the electricity network. The investigation was started based on information provided by Transelectrica itself, which reported possible anti-competitive behavior of ELM Electromontaj Cluj SA, Energobit SA, Societatea pentru Servicii de Mentenanta a Retelei Electrice de Transport Smart SA and Energotech SA in two bids regarding the upgrading of 400/110/20 kV Domnesti 220/110 kV Raureni substations.
