Romanian natural gas transmission system operator Transgaz said that it plans to establish a consortium with Spanish company Regasificadora del Noroeste for the purpose of participation in the second round of tender for the sale of 66 % stake in Greek gas operator DESFA.
This proposal will be put on vote at the next shareholders’ meeting scheduled for 8 January 2018. This is the company’s second attempt ta participate in the tender for DESFA privatization. Together with French GRTgaz, Transgaz already submitted the bid in the first round of the tender but it was rejected as it was in conflict with EU regulations on the matter.
