Romanian natural gas transmission system operator Transgaz has signed an agreement on accessing the grant worth 179 million euros which is part of the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), for financing the development of Bulgaria-Romania-Hungary-Austria (BRHA) gas pipeline.
The signing took place during the meeting of the Central and South Eastern Gas Connectivity Group (CESEC) in Budapest. The event was attended by Romanian Minister of Energy Victor Grigorescu, who underlined the importance of cooperation strengthening within CESEC with countries from the Energy Community, especially for the development of energy projects with Moldova’s interconnection. Together with his Greek, Bulgarian and Hungarian counterparts, Minister Grigorescu supported the construction of the Vertical Gas Corridor, an initiative that aims to connect regional gas projects in order to create an integrated corridor for natural gas transmission from north to the south.
