Turkey and Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) will sign an energy agreement, which envisages the construction of submarine electricity cable between the two countries, on the sidelines of the 23rd World Energy Congress in Istanbul.
This agreement will enable TRNC to connect with the European interconnection of electricity systems in the future and it will be the first step towards reaching this goal. Although the agreement will be signed on Monday, the exact route, its length and the cost of the project will be discussed by experts in another meeting later on.
