Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Turkey could block the export of oil from Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) in Iraq since it considers the independence referendum void and illegitimate regardless of the results.
President Erdogan said that Habur border crossing with Iraq, which serves as KRG’s main gateway to the world, is currently opened for Turkey-bound traffic only, but it could be completely closed in the future, thus blocking the export of KRG oil as well, which is being transported via Kirkuk-Ceyhan oil pipeline that connects Northern Iraq and Mediterranean port of Ceyhan.
