Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said after the meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg that Turkey is ready for the implementation of TurkStream gas pipeline project, and that it will be implemented as soon as possible.
President Erdogan also said that Turkey is ready to proceed with the construction of the country’s first nuclear power plant Akkuyu in cooperation with Russia. Both the construction of NPP Akkuyu and TurkStream gas pipeline were frozen after the incident with the shooting of Russian warplane over Turkish territory. But after the formal apology from President Erdogan last month, the idea of TurkStream construction was quickly revived.
