Slovenian energy company HSE, the operator of thermal power plant Sostanj, announced that the plant’s 275 MW unit 4 has been decommissioned on 6 July after 46 years in operation due to expiry of its lifetime.
This action is a continuation of decommissioning of old, obsolete units within TPP Sostanj. Unit 1 was disconnected from the grid in 2008, unit 2 in 2010 and the plant’s unit 3 was decommissioned in 2014.
