After the malfunction that caused the shutdown of Unit 1 of the Hungarian sole nuclear power plant Paks was repaired, the unit was put back into operation at 100 % output on Friday.
On 14 June, the Hungarian National Atomic Energy Office (OAH) announced that the automated shutdown of one of four units at NPP Paks has occurred due to a control system malfunction. The shutdown met all nuclear safety requirements and the meltdown did not compromise the safety of the unit nor it required the use of automatic defense system.
