The US-EU Energy Council, comprised of United States and European Union officials, stressed the importance of the construction of Bulgaria-Greece gas interconnection and the Southern Gas Corridor project for the energy system in the region.
The Council was co-chaired by EU Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini, US Secretary of State John Kerry, US Secretary of Energy Ernest Moritz, EU Commission Vice President for Energy Union Maros Sefcovic and EU Energy Commissioner Miguel Arias Canete, and the options for increasing regional interconnectivity in the Southeast Europe was a key part of its agenda.
