Director of Serbian gas company Srbijagas Dusan Bajatovic said that the country will not be left without gas even if Russia decides to halt all gas transit to Europe via Ukraine after 2019.
Bajatovic said in an interview that Srbijagas has already signed long-term contracts on gas supply with Russian gas company Gazprom and contracts on gas transit through Hungary. According to him, with the expansion of the capacities of the existing gas storage in Banatski Dvor, 10 million cubic meters of gas will be produced daily, which is enough to cover the daily needs of Serbia during the coldest days. Adding that the final investment decision on the expansion of Banatski Dvor gas storage will be made in March.
