Executive Director for Distribution at state-owned gas company Srbijagas, Milan Zdravkovic said that the company plans to increase its gas storage capacity in the next five years, primarily through the expansion of Banatski Dvor underground gas storage facility from 450 to 750 million cubic meters, but also by the construction of two new storages – in Banatski Itebej and near Pancevo.
Zdravkovic said that the construction of two new gas storages will be realized in mid term and Srbijagas will be the sole owner of these storages. The facility in Banatski Itebej will have a capacity of up to one billion cubic meters of gas, while the one near Pancevo will have a capacity of some 300 million cubic meters. The Pancevo storage will be built as a pilot project, in an effort to increase the efficiency of Serbian gas system management.
